The Urban Unit hired fifty three interns for internship in its different sectors and projects, which include Urban Finance, Solid Waste Management, Information Technology and Environment. The interns from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore College for Women University, University of Lahore, University of Central Punjab, Kinnaird College Lahore, Punjab University, National College of Arts, Superior University and Virtual University.

The closing ceremony for the Urban Internship Program 2013 held at The Urban Unit on 30th August, 2013. In the closing ceremony interns presented the work done by them during their internship period and shared their experiences. They stated that this internship has given the opportunity to enrich and strengthen their abilities. Dr. Kiran Farhan, Sr. Specialist, Solid Waste Management chaired the ceremony and shared her views that this practical experience will improve students’ career decision making and appreciated the efforts of interns. In the end, students were awarded with stipend and certificates.
