Program Overview 2011

The Urban Unit completed its fifth summer internship program, held between July to September, 2011. The internship program provided students with an opportunity to gain experience with public sector organisations, provincial departments and local governments. A total of 324 interns were inducted from different universities from all over Pakistan for the internship. True to its belief that hands-on training is the best teaching tool, the summer internship in 2011 exposed the future professionals to skills and environment that were an orientation to careers within the public sector and helped prepare them for the upcoming professional life. The interns were also engaged in various ongoing projects of the Urban Unit both at the Unit and outside.
